Overview The primary purpose of this position is to screen patients, and visitors entering Texas Neurology. Screeners are responsible for making sure that everyone including Texas Neurology staff entering the clinic wears a mask/face covering at all times. If a patient is not wearing a mask you will provide them with a disposable mask. You will take temperatures, ask screening questions, and assist with directing them to the proper waiting room. This position supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Texas Neurology. Qualifications Your Job Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent – required. Certified Medical Assistant – preferred. Knowledgeable on how to properly use thermometers. Knowledgeable of screening questions and how to respond to various answers. Knowledgeable of visitation guidelines and can effectively communicate to patients and visitors. Responsibilities Your Job Responsibilities: Strong communication skills and able to provide excellent customer service. Effectively adheres to Texas Neurology policies, guidelines, and care commitments; including confidentiality of all patient and business information, infection prevention, safety guidelines, emergency coded, dress code, and Texas Neurology standards. Monitor everyone entering the clinic should have a mask/face covering on at all times. Staff should have a mask. If a patient does not; make sure to give them a disposable mask. All Non-staff are screened with temp, verbal questions, and directed to the proper waiting area. You are not required to log the temp. All Staff members are screened with temp. This temp is recorded in a written log. Patients who do not pass the screening may need to be assisted in contacting the department to see if they want to proceed with appointment or reschedule. Visitors are not allowed to enter the building and should be advised to contact their physician. Knowledge on providers, locations, and directions to key areas.
