Cognac.com has posted 35 interesting facts about alcohol, including that it is illegal to feed fish alcohol in Ohio, and that distilled spirits such as brandy, gin, rum, tequila, etc. contain no carbohydrates, no fats and no cholesterol of any kind (#29) (notice that this says nothing about calories!). These are great bits of trivia to throw around at cocktail parties.

AnitaBeer is for all of us who always wanted to know more about exactly what we were drinking. Why are mixed drinks called a “cocktail?” Is it true that the Gilroy Garlic Festival has garlic wine? Who decided that red wine should only go with beef? And why are dark beers called “stout?” All this and more will be covered here.

I will also be pointing out a lot of excellent websites that cover the subject, as well as blogs, and other points of interest.
